There are no algorithmic recommendations and this means that users will only see content they have chosen to see and follow. WhatsApp will allow users to have complete control over which channels they follow, and when they follow a new channel, this action will remain private. Note that this feature is still in development, so the interface you see in the screenshot may get some changes or revisions before the official release, for which we do not know a date, unfortunately.
Instead, channels will be shown under the section where status updates are listed. In particular, status updates will always be displayed horizontally in order to provide more space for the channels list. As you can see in this screenshot, channels will be listed within the Status tab, which is now called “Updates”, where both status updates and channels are shown.
